LAUNCHED IN COIMBATORE
A ‘Joint Parcel Product’ has been developed by India Post and the National Transporter Indian Railways with an intention to reduce the time and cost involved in transportation of Parcels. In this service, the first-mile and the last-mile connectivity is provided by the Department of Posts while the intermediate connectivity from railway station to railway station is done by the Indian Railways. Through this arrangement, a full & comprehensive parcel handling solution, i.e. picking up parcels from the sender’s premises, booking and doorstep delivery to the recipient is provided to customers. Meetings on ‘Joint Parcel Product’ were held by Indian Railways & India Post at Coimbatore and at Salem recently to introduce this ‘Joint Parcel Product’ to industrialists, MSMEs, entrepreneurs and traders.
